Homemade Chai Tea Latte
Servings: 5
Prep time: 10min
Total Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
¼ tsp ground cardamom
2 cloves
4 cups / 900g unsweetened non-dairy milk
1 tbsp black tea leaves
2 tbsp / 1 oz monkfruit sugar substitute
½ tsp ground or fresh ginger
ground cinnamon (topping)
Instructions:
Combine Ingredients: In a saucepan, combine the non-dairy milk, ground cardamom, cloves, black tea leaves (or tea bags), cinnamon stick, monk fruit sugar, and ginger.
Heat the Mixture: Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Do not let it come to a boil; you want it to be hot but not boiling.
Steep: Once hot, reduce the heat to low and let the mixture steep for about 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Strain: Remove from heat and strain the chai mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a large bowl or pitcher to remove the solids.
Serve: Pour the chai tea latte into mugs. Sprinkle a little ground cinnamon on top for garnish.
Enjoy: Serve warm and enjoy your homemade chai tea latte!
